There was a time when lies never used to exist in this world. People were not aware of if they can tell something else apart from the truth for anything. This may apply even from small daily basis things to the big ethical things. But now the time has changed and it is necessary to tell or educate the coming generation that how honesty is important. Now people are dying to know the truth behind many faces and situations but the fact is always hidden and hence, it is very important now to educate people for honesty.
Having said all this, but the world is not full of lies there are some people who are setting examples and making fake people ashamed of themselves. To give an example, there was a cab driver who took the ride for a woman from the bank to her home. Unfortunately, while getting off from the cab the women forgot to pick up one bag out of her three bags. After almost two hours the woman realized that she does not have one of her bags with her. She was devastated as she had kept three lacks rupees in that bag which she withdrew from the bank. She started recollecting the whole day routine right from the bank and then she realized that she has forgotten the bag in the cab. Now she thought it is almost impossible to prove that she has forgotten the bag in the cab. Everyone in the house started blaming her about her carelessness. She decided to lodge a complaint against the cab driver but then she thought to call out the cab driver to his number which she got from the booking information. When she called the cab driver he suddenly replied to her that yes mam, have the bag and it has the money as well. She was surprised by how the cab driver accepted instantly. Then, she gave her house address to the cab driver and he delivered the bag with all the cash in it. The cab driver was awarded price money and popularity for his honesty.
This is the best example he has set in front of every person who may have thought to grab the money and flew away. Rather than doing this he decided to give the money back. By doing this he also earned respect and money earned through his honesty. The most precious thing he may have earned his peace of mind which he the honest person may have got after relieving the woman from the problem. This is very important to teach our children right from their childhood. The honesty policy starts right from the toddler edge when the child starts speaking. We see many times kids say lie when they don’t want to at a particular food or maybe the kids have broken up something in the house. Start teaching them from that age that whatever is the situation if one stays honest then maybe they get a punishment or scolding from their parent but they do not have to tell more lies to hide one lie. This will take them to the path of honesty.
Kids should also be shown some examples in which someone lies a lot and how he is in trouble due to saying lies all the time. This way they will also understand the side-effects of the lies and that will make them even a wise person and inspire them to walk on the path of honesty. So, always teach and implement that Honesty is the Best Policy!
